    Un’Esperienza Unica a New York 

    Humanities Spring New York (HSNY) è un programma immersivo che unisce cultura, lingua e creatività. Le lezioni diventano esperienze reali con passeggiate, musei e letture coinvolgenti. Ogni attività aiuta i ragazzi a scoprire New York e praticare l’inglese in modo naturale e divertente. La nostra home-base è a Manhattan, ma insieme conosceremo anche gli altri 4 boroughs di New York: Brooklyn (the promenade, the bridge, Dumbo, the Brooklyn Museum , the Botanical Gardens); Staten Island (the Ferry and Snug Harbor with its cosmopolitan museum of gardens); Queens (the Queens Museum, City Baseball Park, Socrates Sculpture Park); the Bronx (Bronx Zoo, optional excursion).

     

    Il Nostro Metodo: Full Immersion Creativa 

    • Lezioni mattutine e pomeridiane, sempre interattive 
    • Approccio comparativo: confrontiamo arte, storia e letteratura con ciò che viviamo in città 
    • Attività pratiche: disegno, scrittura creativa, dibattiti, storytelling 
    • Inglese sempre presente: ascolto, conversazione, comprensione, produzione 

    Esempi: 

    • Leggiamo “To the Brooklyn Bridge” di Hart Crane la mattina, poi lo attraversiamo la sera 
    • Prepariamo mini-discorsi su testi letti e li presentiamo ai compagni durante le visite 
    • Disegniamo e scriviamo nel nostro diario personale ogni giorno 

     

    Una Giornata Immersiva

    Dopo le attività giornaliere, ci ritroviamo nella nostra casa comune: 

    • Cena condivisa alle 20:30 
    • Laboratori di cucina con meal planning, spesa al Trader Joe’s 59, preparazione e conversazione in inglese 
    • Serate rilassanti o eventi in città 

    Alloggeremo al famoso residence e centro culturale 92nd Street Y, dotato di piscina e palestra, a 5 minuti a piedi da Central Park e dal Museum Mile. 

    Eventi Culturali Serali 

    Due o tre volte a settimana partecipiamo a eventi unici: 

    • Concerti di musica classica o jazz 
    • Shakespeare in the Park, City Opera, Lincoln Center Out of Doors Festival 
    • Harlem Gospel e festival multiculturali 

    Moduli Speciali 

    • Confronto tra Frost e Shakespeare con composizioni creative 
    • Studio dell’Erie Canal e del Brooklyn Bridge, con presentazioni a gruppi 
    • Passeggiate storiche: Soho, 5th Avenue, High Line, Central Park 
    • Musei: MOMA, Whitney, Natural History, Metropolitan, Queens Museum 

    E inoltre: 

    • Empire State Building, Ground Zero, Chinatown, The Strand Bookstore, baseball, crociera Circle Line, spettacoli e molto altro! 

    Niagara Falls & Buffalo 

    Un viaggio straordinario per concludere l’esperienza: 

    • Cascate del Niagara: tour in barca Maid of the Mist e spettacolo di luci serale 
    • Buffalo: Albright-Knox Museum, Shakespeare in Delaware Park, caffè e librerie funky 

     

    Schedule 

    August 4th: Arrival in NYC, dinner at the Y, time for bed. 

    August 5th: Museum of the City of New York, Conservatory Gardens, walking tour of 5th Avenue (Museum Mile).                            

    August 6th: Take a visit to Soho. 

    August 7th: St Paul’s Chapel, Trinity Church, Wall Street, City Hall, Staten Island Ferry with wonderful views of Statue of Liberty, end in Snug Harbour.

    August 8th: Metropolitan Museum with a Guided tour, Drinks on the rooftop café & a Concert in the Great Hall. 

    August 9th: Grand Central Station, Walking Tour of 5th Avenue (lower this time), Empire State Building. 

    August 10th: Brunch & Central Park tour. 

    August 11th: Metropolitan Museum focusing on Modern/Contemporary Art and The American Wing.

    August 12th: Natural History Museum, Lincoln Center, Our of Doors Festival.

    August 13th: The High Line (walking tour), Flat Iron Building, & the Strand Bookstore. 

    August 14th: Visit MOMA.

    August 15th: Queens Museum, Socrates Sculpture Park, & an optional baseball game.

    August 16th: Free day to fulfill personal goals.

    August 17th: Harlem Gospel, walking tour of Harlem, & jazz at the Meer.                                     

    August 18th: Visit and study the Brooklyn Bridge. 

    August 19th: Shakespeare in the Park.

    August 20th: Tour the Whitney Museum.   

    August 21st: Departure for Buffalo & Shakespeare in The Park (Buffalo).                                                                                                                

    August 22nd: Niagara Falls, Maid of The Mist Cruise & Light Show. 

    August 23rd: Walking tour of Buffalo, Albright-Knox Museum, evening departure for NYC. 

    August 24th: Our last day in NYC (free day) with good-bye dinner in Chinatown.

    August 25th: Goodbye NYC and departure for Italy!
