HS Kids cura la sezione in inglese di Birbachilegge un festival per ragazzi (dai 7 ai 14 anni) di narrazione in tutte le sue forme – che avverrà ad Assisi dal 24 al 27 maggio.

Stiamo organizzando una serie di attività che si svolgeranno direttamente in lingua inglese. Ma sono state pensate anche per le famiglie italiane.  Potrebbe essere una bellissima occasione per i vostri figli assistere alle letture animate in inglese, creare ed illustrare un piccolo libro sulla propria famiglia (reale ed immaginaria) naturalmente in inglese, fare una passeggiata guidata nel meraviglioso bosco di San Francesco sempre in inglese, insieme a tanti altri bambini sia italiani che non. Non sarebbe un bel scambio per tutti? Le storie stesse sono luoghi di scambio, sono universali, e anche il nostro festival lo vuole essere.

Thursday, May 24th  

Morning:

Guided nature walk 

SAINT FRANCIS AND HIS LOVE OF ANIMALS

10:00 – 12:30      Location: Bosco di San Francesco   Ages: 5-10
A guided walk through the beautiful woods of St Francis where children learn to observe and listen to the woods.
We will tell the wonderful stories of St Francis and the animals he befriended.  Children will learn about his profound and harmonious connection to the natural world, from plants, to insects to the weather itself and learn to identify some of the flora and fauna in our woods in the process.
For children from 6-10 years old and their families, but older children are also welcome!
Recommended: good walking shoes

SAN FRANCESCO E GLI ANIMALI (Inglese)

10:00 – 12:30 Bosco di San Francesco Età: 5-10

Laboratorio di ascolto e osservazione degli animali
Il bosco viene osservato, ascoltato e raccontato attraverso il linguaggio delle “favole” per capire il profondo e armonioso rapporto fra il Santo di Assisi e tutte le creature della Natura. La guida stimola i bambini a scoprire rumori, suoni, profumi delle piante e segni lasciati dagli animali.
Approfondire l’armonioso rapporto fra San Francesco e le creature della natura. Imparare ad “osservare ed ascoltare” il bosco Attraverso il linguaggio delle “favole”.
Si racconteranno degli episodi molto significativi della vita di San Francesco e si spiegherà ai bambini il profondo e armonioso rapporto fra il Santo di Assisi, gli animali e tutte le creature della Natura. A seguire passeggiata nella Selva. Il bosco verrà “osservato ed ascoltato”: gli alunni verranno stimolati a cogliere i suoni della Selva, il fruscio delle foglie, il rumore del vento, il cinguettio degli uccelli, il profumo della terra e dei fiori. Verranno descritte la flora e la fauna presenti nel bosco.
A conclusione, i bambini stessi saranno invitati a raccogliere le foglie e riconoscerle per poter realizzare a fine percorso un erbario, mettendo a frutto quanto appreso durante la passeggiata.

MY FAMILY AND OTHER ANIMALS, STORIES AND POEMS

3:00pm – 5:00pm   Location: Giardino degli Incanti            Ages: 5+
My Family and other Animals includes a  chapbook workshop.
We will read sweet and funny poems and stories about families, and then each child will write and illustrate a little book about their own family, real and imaginary. We will use St. Francis’ famous Brother Sun, Sister Moon poem (which all Italian school children memorize) as a springboard for each child’s chapbook.

A brief guided tour of the piazza del Comune (Assisi’s main square) and then a poetry-writing workshop, using what children have seen in the square and Kenneth Koch’s Wishes, Lies, and Dreams as an inspiration.

Una breve visita guidata interattiva alla Piazza del Commune e poi un laboratorio dedicato all scripture di poesie spirate dalla Piazza stessa e dal libro del poeta statunitense Kenneth Koch: Desideri, Bugie, e Sogni.

ST FRANCIS AND THE WOLF, MAKING FRIENDS WITH ANIMALS AND SPEAKING THEIR LANGUAGE

3:00 pm – 5:00 pm    meeting point: outside the Lower Basilica of St. Francis    ages: 5+
Includes a brief guided tour of the Basilica of St Francis & sketching workshop.
Children will perform in a little play about St Francis and the wolf of Gubbio, see art works of the story, as well as other animal stories in the Basilica and then (time permitting) sketch their favorite animal from the church.

SAN FRANCESCO E IL LUPO, FACENDO AMICIZIE CON GLI ANIMALI E PARLANDO I LORO LINGUAGGI (Inglese)

15:00 – 17:00 punto d’incontro: fuori l’ingresso alla Basiiica inferiore di San Francesco Età : 5+
San Francesco e il Lupo, facendo amicizia con gli animals e parlando i loro linguaggi
comprende una breve visita guidata alla basilica di San Francesco e un laboratorio di disegno.
I bambini e ragazzi parteciperanno alla lettura animata di San Francesco e Il lupo, vedranno la scene rappresenta nella basilica insieme ad alter affreschi di San Francesco e gli animals. Tutti disegneranno il loro animals preferito negli affreschi.
